Lekhaa — Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 July 2026
These terms govern your school's use of Lekhaa. By creating an account or using the app, the school agrees to them. If you are using Lekhaa on behalf of a school, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
1. Who we are
Lekhaa is operated by Akshay Basotra, trading as Lekhaa (“we”, “us”), contactable at [email protected].
2. What Lekhaa does
Lekhaa is school management software: admissions and student records, fee structures, invoicing, fee collection and receipts, attendance, and staff records. It records payments a school has already collected — it is not a payment gateway and we never handle your money.
3. Accounts and your responsibilities
- Keep sign-in credentials confidential, and give each staff member their own account rather than sharing one.
- You are responsible for what is done under your accounts. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the records you enter, and for having the lawful basis — including, where required, verifiable parental consent — for the personal data you record about students and guardians.
- Where you connect your own WhatsApp Business account, you are responsible for complying with Meta's terms and for messaging only guardians who have consented.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Lekhaa unlawfully, or to store data you have no right to hold.
- Attempt to access another school's or campus's data.
- Probe, scan, overload or interfere with the service, or circumvent its access controls.
- Resell or re-badge the service without our written agreement.
5. Your data stays yours
The records you enter remain the school's. We claim no ownership of them and we do not sell them, use them for advertising, or use them to train machine-learning models. We process them to run the service, as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
You may ask us for an export of your data, or for its deletion, at any time.
6. Availability
We aim to keep Lekhaa available and correct, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may need to suspend the service for maintenance, and during the testing period we may do so at short notice. Backups are taken, but you should not rely on Lekhaa as your only record of anything legally or financially important.
7. Fees
Lekhaa is free while in open testing. If we introduce charges, we will give reasonable notice beforehand, and no school will be charged without agreeing to a plan first.
8. Intellectual property
The software, its design and its name remain ours. These terms grant your school a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Lekhaa for its own administration for as long as these terms are in force.
9. Ending the agreement
You may stop using Lekhaa and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or if we discontinue the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice and a chance to export your data. For a reasonable period after closure you may request an export; after that, data is deleted.
10. Disclaimer and liability
To the extent permitted by law, Lekhaa is provided “as is” and we exclude implied warranties. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, goodwill or data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Lekhaa helps you keep records; it does not give you legal, accounting or tax advice, and it does not relieve your school of its own statutory obligations.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service develops. We will change the date above and, for significant changes, tell schools directly. Continuing to use Lekhaa after a change means accepting the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [CITY] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
